Step-up MSL

Pic of Gerrard
Pic of Gerlyn
Here's another set of pics to prove that the 2 baby Gs really look alike when they are borned.
A lot of people commented that I walked too much during pregnancy. I'm glad I did all the walking. And by coincidence, the Bio classes that I had during my pregnancies happened to be at the high floors. I did quite a lot of Step-up MSL (Reebok) during then. Dr Han guessed that could have helped with the fast delivery, especially during Gerrard's delivery. 4M1 (2006) was really sweet that they proposed to have their Bio lessons in the Art Rm then. Eventually, we had lessons in the ITR (I needed the air-con to cool my body also!).
The current batch of 4M5 is making me worried. Unlike 4M1 (2006), they have not covered the syllabus yet. So, like what i did for 4M1 (2006), I decided not to take the full 3 months maternity leave. Some colleagues say I should, as it is my entitlement. I believe my children are as strong-willed (or stubborn) as me!

But then also same same

Pic of Gerrard
Pic of Gerlyn
As I mentioned earlier, both of us found the baby Gs very similar when Gerlyn was delivered. Our parents and many visitors feel otherwise. Just look at these 2 photos. Scary right? But then, maybe all newborn are like that. Dunno, maybe give birth to more babies to conclude. ;p

Not same same

Ultrasound pic of Gerrard
Ultrasound pic of Gerlyn
Right from the start, it seems to suggest both baby Gs are different. Gerrard is the more shy one. It was difficult to capture the one that you see here. I had to go into the room 3 times, because for the first 2 times, Gerrard was backfacing us and refused to turn over when the doc tried to push him to the front.
Gerlyn is different. It was scary to see her facing us the moment the probe was placed on my abdomen. I called her the E.T.
Gerrard was a quiet baby, and he only cried when he bathed (insecured, Auntie said), not even when his feeding time is up and that his diapers were soiled. Gerlyn is different. Maybe because she's a girl. She cries to be cuddled.
Both baby Gs are extraordinary (I think every parent thinks theirs are extraordinary!).

Threesome

A very funny scene captured while the confinement nanny was trying to pacify Gerlyn. Auntie Qingzhen was singing to Gerlyn and Gerrard was actually swaying and clapping to the tune!
Auntie Qingzhen is really great with kids.
Gerrard has been trying to show affection to Gerlyn. E.g. runs over whenever Gerlyn cries, and tries to pat Gerlyn. However, for many times these seems more like heart attack to us, because Gerrard is not patting, but bashing Gerlyn up! He does not seems to know to control his strength yet. Amazing thing is that Gerlyn does not cry though. Seems to know Gerrard actually meant well...

Ball in the tummy

Took this while Gerrard was watching TV at home. Bet he must have thought mummy had given birth to a ball!

Delivery

Both Gerrard and Gerlyn are kind to their mom. Smooth delivery with minimal labour pains. Huey Min has worse menstrual cramps than these. No bursting of waterbag, no contractions. Just had the funny feeling of 'constipation'. Cervix was already dilated when arrived at the hospital.

Better than Gerrard's delivery, this time there is no gas assistance. Only oxytocin injection to allow faster cervix dilation. Initially Dr Han did not want it to be administered. Unfortunately the rate of dilation was simply too slow. After the injection, it was really fast.
Many say Gerlyn looks like me. Her first look was horrifying - horribly similar to Gerrard. Or maybe all newborn look alike?! Don't have enough kids to draw conclusion yet.

Boy in a Box

Brought Baby G to school during Dec holidays in 2006. He was put in a box. And as usual, food entertained him.
The nasty "step-mom" caught in action.

DVD Sponge

Engrossed in his Hi-5 DVD, while doing his 'gold-digging' at the same time. Gerrard can sit still for 1.5h to watch the shows. Totally a sponge.

Gerrard's first overseas trip - KL. Easy-to-tour place with a young toddler. Stayed at Berjaya Times Square. It's the first luxury hotel stay for Scott and Min. No choice, all for Baby G.
Bored while waiting for Gerrard's passport to be done. Super long q at the SIR. Many kids going overseas too.
From the 2 photos evident that Gerrard is fair, Min is yellow, Scott is tanned.

Darling of the 3 couples

Actual day of Gerrard's 1st birthday falls on a weekday. So we bought a cake and visited him at Grands' place.

He's definitely our darling.

And he's the 'golden grandson' of Scott's parents.
And the gem in min's parents' eyes.

Yammy King

Gerrard eating black sesame paste...
Biscuits are his favourite. All kinds. Every Kind.

Gerrard loves to eat. So much so that a lot of people knows about it. An evidence of being tamed in Mrs Bay's house.

Gerrard's loves-to-eat trait was displayed when he's about 3 months old.
